Last updated: August 17, 2026
DevByte Daily ('we', 'us', or 'our') respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use devbytedaily.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. If you have questions, you can reach us through our Contact page.
Information We Collect Automatically
Like most websites, we collect some technical information automatically when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring pages. We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand overall site traffic and which content is useful to readers. This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.
Information You Provide to Us
We only collect personal information when you choose to give it to us, through one of the following forms:
- Newsletter signup - your name, email address, job title, company name, company size, and the topics you're interested in, so we can send you relevant updates.
- Share Your Knowledge (contribution form) - your name, email, role, the type of content you want to write, your topic idea, background, and optionally a portfolio link.
- Contact form - your name, email address, the reason for contacting us, and your message.
We do not collect payment information, and we do not require you to create an account to read articles on this site.
How We Use Your Information
- To send the newsletter content you signed up for.
- To review and respond to contribution submissions, including sending you writing guides and follow-up emails about your submission's status.
- To respond to questions or messages sent through our contact form.
- To understand how our site is used, so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to make the site work properly, including caching cookies (via LiteSpeed Cache) that help pages load faster, and analytics cookies (via Google Analytics) that help us understand site traffic. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function as well as a result.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy practices:
- Google Analytics / Google Site Kit - for site traffic and performance data. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA - to protect our newsletter form from spam and automated abuse. See Google's Privacy Policy above.
If we begin working with advertising partners in the future, we will update this policy to reflect that.
How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information you share with us from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
- Newsletter - every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can contact us directly to be removed.
- Access or deletion - you can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by reaching out through our Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time.
- EU/UK visitors - if data protection law such as the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
- California visitors - if the CCPA applies to you, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information.
Data Retention
We keep the personal information you provide for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose it was collected for (for example, newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe), or as required by law.
Children's Privacy
DevByte Daily is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
